You can bring your RV to Bayley’s Camping Resort, or you can set up a tent. There is a recreation area for the family, and lots for the kids to do during your stay. Likewise, if you are traveling as an adult-only group, you will not grow bored, simply because this resort is so great.

A lot of campsites are often overrun with children, and while this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, it might not be your vibe. You may want some peace and quiet away from children, and that is usually difficult to get in a campsite. However, that is exactly what you get at this adult-only campsite.

If you want to spend your time in Portland away from the screaming and shouting of children, and at one with nature, we really would recommend checking out Wild Duck Adult Campground and RV Park.

5. Cascadia Park

You should also consider a stay at Cascadia Park. Cascadia Park is a breathtaking campsite located just outside Portland, Maine, with excellent links to the main city. It really is that perfect balance of rural and urban for your stay.

This campsite isn’t anything fancy, but it is perfect if you want to immerse yourself in nature. Unlike some of the other campsites we have looked at, it isn’t extremely developed and doesn’t have a recreation center. But it does have all the basics you could possibly need for your stay.

On-site at Cascadia Park, you will find laundry facilities, showers, restrooms, and an ample amount of firewood. So it is the perfect place to go if you want to enjoy a simpler life during your stay.

6. Powder Horn Family Camping Resort

Alternatively, if you are traveling with the whole family, we would recommend checking out Powder Horn Family Camping Resort. As the name suggests, this resort is designed for family holidays, so it is the perfect place to go if you are taking your children to Portland.

This campsite is a lot more developed than Cascadia Park. There are activities to keep the children entertained, high-standard amenities (including showers and toilets), and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful too!

There is no denying that this resort is a popular one, and for that very reason, it is often pretty busy. But as long as you are happy to navigate some traffic in the parking lot, you will have an excellent stay at Powder Horn Family Camping Resort.

7. Paradise Park Resort Campground

If you want a slice of paradise during your stay in Portland, you should pay a visit to Paradise Park Resort Campground. If you are somebody who loves the countryside, then Paradise Park Resort really will be a paradise for you as this is a little slice of heaven in Portland.

With relaxing vibes, outstanding views, and the unbeatable opportunity to immerse yourself in nature, there is so much to love about Paradise Park Resort Campground. Out on Adelaide Road, this campground can achieve that heavenly feel because it is small and snug.

Nestled in the woodland, Pinehirst Campground is very much off the beaten path, and it is easy to forget that you are in Portland when you stay here. But, there is so much more to love about Wolfe’s Neck Oceanfront Camping than just its location. Sure, the location of this campsite is great, but so are its facilities. There is lots to do for the whole family, and this is a great campsite to visit if you have children.

Finally, we would suggest checking out Old Orchard Beach Campground if you are looking for somewhere to stay in Portland, Maine.

From your tent or RV, you will easily be able to walk to the beach every day of your trip, and it isn’t a long walk either. So it is perfect for families who want to take their kids to the seaside.
